Traveling with your cat: four hotels that welcome them
Most pet-friendly hotel lists are really about dogs. Cats can travel well too, especially calm ones that are used to a carrier, and a few hotels do a lovely job with them. I posted these for National Cat Day, and here's a little more on each, plus what to sort out before you go.
Le Bristol Paris
Le Bristol has had a resident cat for years. The current one is Socrate, born in 2021, the son of the hotel's first cat, Fa-Raon. Pets are welcome as guests too, so your cat may get a look from the house cat in the lobby. (Oetker Collection)
Loews Regency New York
On Park Avenue, the Loews Regency welcomes cats and dogs under 75 pounds for a $150 fee per stay. The Loews Loves Pets program includes a litter box, litter and a scoop, and there's a room service menu for pets made by the hotel's kitchen. (Loews Hotels)
Four Seasons Hotel Ritz Lisbon
The Ritz in Lisbon takes cats and dogs up to 7 kilograms (15 pounds). The hotel's pet policy lists a fee of 250 euros per stay, and pets can't be left alone in the room. (Four Seasons)
Kimpton Hotel Vintage, Portland
Kimpton hotels are known for welcoming pets of any size or breed at no extra charge, and Hotel Vintage in downtown Portland follows that policy. Listings disagree on whether that includes cats, so I'd confirm with the hotel before booking. (Kimpton)

Policies change, so I always confirm pet rules with the hotel before booking. If you're planning a trip and don't want to leave your cat behind, tell me about it and I'll find a stay that suits you both.
Planning something? I'd love to hear about it.
